Most of the information has been obtained from the reports of the Reserve's Scientific Committee, prepared in 1983-1984 as a preliminary cognitive basis for the preparation of the Management Plan; the reports concern geology (prof. Floriano Villa), flora and vegetation (prof. Carlo Andreis), ornitologhy (prof. Pierandrea Brichetti), hydrobiology and fish (prof. Gaetano Barbato). The Report on the Master Plan for the reserve and its appendices (arch. Gianfranco Zaniboni) was also consulted.
